Although Pump & Meter Solutions started in the Ag and DEF industries, we seek new opportunities everywhere. We are expanding our customer base with custom solutions to meet the needs of the Turf, liquid de-icing, and other industries as well. The systems pictured were sent to Everest Snow Management, Inc. out of Chicago. The owner asked us to create a custom de-icing transfer solution for his newly acquired fleet of Snowrators made by LT Rich. The customer needed a pump that could handle; the brutal Chicago winter, calcium chloride, as well as fast fill time, and a clean fill of the two Snowrator 20 gallon tanks. This industry, like turf and lawn application, also has the requirement for different concentrations of product.
Our Custom De-Icing Transfer Solution
Firstly, We augmented the Snowrator with two Banjo valves, new bungs, and a dry poppet for drip-free filling. Then, we also added an overflow line and the tank lids were changed to a non-venting style. As a result, we eliminated spillage from a full tank sloshing about while driving. Furthermore, the dual tanks were outfitted with a Dura-Pump Easy Caddy and union valves to each tank port. We are excited to see how this solution turned out.
